Jeep Renegade Lease Deals

The Renegade is Jeep’s smallest SUV. Based on the underpinnings of the Fiat 500X, it’s a chunky, funky alternative to the compact SUV establishment. Not only do all-wheel-drive examples have genuine off-road credentials, but there’s a plug-in hybrid that offers low company car tax bills. The looks might not be for everyone, but the Renegade has plenty of appeal in other areas.

4xe plug-in hybrid has proper off-road capability.

  • Leasing a Renegade gets you a 351-litre luggage bay. That’s slightly smaller than a Volkswagen Golf’s boot and the VW T-Roc is noticeably more spacious. But like everything else in the Renegade, it’s a really useful, square shape and folding the rear seats down gives you much more space. There’s lots of storage in the cabin, with cubby holes and storage bins everywhere.

Speaking of the cabin, the Renegade feels incredibly light and spacious for those up front. The driver and front-seat passenger get acres of head and shoulder-room, thanks to the car’s boxy shape. Rear-seat passengers will be slightly more cramped, but 4 adults can travel comfortably in the Renegade. Kids will have more than enough space to stretch out.

  • The Renegade is surprisingly economical. The squared-off body doesn’t scream eco-friendliness, but the tiny petrol engines keep fuel bills low. Both the 1.0 and 1.3-litre engines will do more than 40mpg on the official test.

But the 4xe is the powertrain of choice. That vehicle will manage around 26 miles on electricity alone. Only once the battery is drained will the car need its 1.3-litre petrol engine. If you keep your journeys short and charge the car regularly, you might find yourself getting close to the claimed 141.2mpg economy. Whether you achieve that or not, the company car tax bill will be low. The Renegade falls into the 13% bracket for 2021/22, and that’s only set to rise slightly over the coming years.

Longitude Night Eagle Limited Trailhawk 80th Anniversary

The Renegade is well equipped as standard, with even the basic Longitude getting plenty of kit. An 8.4-inch touchscreen is standard, along with satellite navigation, cruise control and 17-inch aluminium wheels. You also get 2-zone air conditioning, rear parking sensors, and the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration technology.

The Jeep Renegade Vs Competitors

The Renegade is up against a wide range of competitors, including the hugely popular Audi Q2, the Lexus UX and the MINI Countryman. It’s also competing with fewer premium alternatives such as the Skoda Kamiq and Toyota C-HR – not to mention the Nissan Juke and Mazda CX-30. As if that wasn’t enough, other alternatives include the Peugeot 2008, Vauxhall Mokka and the Kia Niro. But arguably the biggest rival of them all is the Fiat 500X, with which the Renegade shares so much of its underpinnings. It’s a long list of competitors, but few have the off-road credentials of the SUV.

  • Sharing its engines and drivetrains with several other models built by Stellantis, the Jeep Compass uses tried and tested parts, so it should be dependable. It also comes with a competitive 5-year warranty for even more peace of mind.

  • The Renegade’s boot measures 351 litres, which is slightly more than you get in a Volkswagen Polo, but slightly less than you get in a Golf. It’s roomier than the Fiat 500X and only marginally smaller than a Toyota C-HR. In short, it’s par for the course.

  • The Jeep Renegade range comprises 5 different models. The basic Longitude is joined by the Night Eagle and Limited models, as well as the Trailhawk off-road-oriented model. And there’s an 80th Anniversary model to cap off the line-up.

  • Rear parking sensors are included with every version of the Renegade. Even basic Longitude models have sensors in the rear bumpers. But higher-specification cars also get parking sensors at the front.

  • The Renegade’s boxy shape makes it roomy inside. Despite its compact dimensions, there’s plenty of space for 4 adults to travel in comfort. Add in the 351-litre boot and you’re left with a very useful, very usable family car.

  • Impressive levels of equipment and a genuine off-road image give the Jeep instant appeal among customers. Leasing a Renegade also gives you plenty of space and, if you choose the 4xe hybrid, low running costs.
