Which Land Rover Models Can I Lease?
The Land Rover product line-up can be broadly split into three families. There’s the Range Rover family, the Discovery family, and finally the Defender family. Within each model, there are plenty of choices of body style, trim, and engine.
Modern Land Rovers are all luxurious SUVs, reflecting the brand’s off-road heritage, so it’s unsurprising that the cars are a popular choice for family cars. The Range Rover family of cars starts with the Range Rover Evoque. The more affordable Evoque is the smallest in the Land Rover range and one of the brand’s most popular models.
The Range Rover is one of the most respected large SUVs on the road. This model is very good at what it does – carrying up to seven people in fantastic comfort, and over just about any terrain.
The Range Rover Velar is bigger and delivers the full Range Rover experience. This vehicle seats five comfortably with 558 litres of boot space – ideal for a bigger family and all the baggage that comes with it.
The latest Range Rover Sport is as popular as ever, with the option of seven seats. You can pick from a few trims in the standard car, or the more prestigious Editions models. There’s also the sporty SVR version, which boosts both power and driving dynamics considerably.
The Discovery family comprises the Discovery and the Discovery Sport. Although it’s comparable in price to the Velar, there’s no Range Rover in the name, reflecting slightly less emphasis on luxury and more on off-road ability.
The Defender is the latest car in the Land Rover line-up, and the most utilitarian, although as with the rest of the range, it still has plenty of luxurious features. If you want big, big power in your Defender, then you’ll need one of the V8 editions.
Hybrid And Electric Land Rover Lease Options
Land Rover has mild-hybrid technology, which it calls MHEV, on most of its cars. The company has also rolled out several plug-in hybrid models. You can spot them by a small ‘e’ at the end of the engine names, such as P300e and P400e.
There is a plug-in option for the Discovery Sport. This is a five or seven-seater car that’s considerably more affordable than the Discovery.
Currently there aren’t any all-electric Land Rover cars, but there are some in development. The company also says that 60% of its global sales will be fully electric by 2030, and wants all its cars to be zero-emission by 2036.
