Why Drive A Townstar?
The Nissan Townstar is a new name in the small van marketplace, competing against some big names such as the Citroen Berlingo and Renault Kangoo.
Although the name has been used by Nissan before, this van is all-new. It’s available in a choice of two lengths (L1 and L2) meaning that you’ll be able to choose a new Nissan Townstar that is exactly suited to your requirements. The van can carry a payload of up to 845kg, perfect for those who need their van to carry some serious weight, but where the load volume of a medium or large van isn’t required.

Townstar Specifications & Dimensions
The Townstar is fitted with a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine which produces 131PS and is coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox. There is also an all-electric option, the Townstar EV featuring a 122hp electric motor and a 45kWh battery giving the van an official range of 183 miles between charges.
The petrol-powered Townstar has long service intervals of every two years or 18,000 miles, and a fantastic 5-year / 100,000-mile warranty. The all-electric Townstar EV has a 2-year / 24,000-mile service interval, and the same 5-year warranty, but with 8 years / 100,000 miles of cover for the battery capacity.
You get twin rear and twin side loading doors on most models of the Townstar, making accessing the loadspace a breeze. Load lengths are 1810mm and 2230mm for the L1 and L2 respectively, giving the van either 3.3 or 4.3 cubic metres of load volume, respectively.
Although a big payload capacity isn’t always at the top of the list, the Nissan Townstar L2 petrol van still lets you put up to a very respectable 840kg in the back. This is more than some medium and large vans can take, meaning that you’ve always got that extra capacity in reserve for the times you really need it. Even the heavier L2 Townstar EV has a payload of up to 777kg.
