MAN TGE Specifications & Dimensions
All versions of the MAN TGE are powered by VW’s reliable and durable 2.0-litre TDI Turbodiesel engine - the same engine that powers the VW Crafter. There are a range of power outputs available to choose from - 102hp, 122hp, 140hp single turbo units and a 177hp twin-turbo unit.
The six-speed manual gearbox is the standard transmission on all models, but if you like automatic transmission the vehicle can be specced with a superb eight-speed automatic gearbox.
There is also an all-electric version of the MAN TGE available - the eTGE - of which DPD already has a large number on their fleet. They’re not officially launched yet, but the VW e-Crafter (on which the eTGE is based) offers a range of just over 90 miles - useful for last-mile delivery companies and low-distance businesses, but maybe not practical enough for other trades.
The standard panel and crew versions of the vehicle are available in three lengths - Standard, Long and Extra Long - and in three similarly-named height options - Standard, High and Super High. The largest MAN TGE can measure up to 7400mm long and 2800mm high with the longest 4490mm wheelbase. The longest loadspace available in the range is 4855mm long, 2189mm high, 1832mm wide, 1380mm wide between the wheel arches, and offers a maximum load volume of up to 18.4 cubic metres.
The vehicle’s maximum payload is 2.5 tonnes, but you’ll only get that in the heaviest 5-tonne version - for the more popular 3.5-tonne versions, the maximum payload is 1333kg (Standard length, front-wheel drive model using the 102hp engine). The van is fully-capable of towing 750kg unbraked, 2,500kg or 3000kg in the FWD and AWD models, and 3500kg on RWD models.
MAN TGE Drive & Trim
The MAN TGE is available in a variety of body styles, trim levels and with a range of driver assistance and safety technology. You can also choose between front-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive, depending on what you need from your MAN TGE. Whatever you choose, you’ll find the MAN TGE a pleasure to drive thanks to the VW build quality leaking into MAN’s very worthy large van.
At the standard level, the MAN TGE comes with comfortable driving seats, dual passenger seats, multi-function steering wheel, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, 12v sockets, cruise control, a full-steel bulkhead, telematics preparation and 16-inch steel wheels.
There are several options packs available:
Light And Sight Package: Adds high beam assist, automatic lights, automatic wipers and foglights at the front.
Comfort Package: Adds three extra 12v sockets, two DIN slots, a reading light and better noise dampening.
Comfort Package Plus: Adds to the Comfort Package with the addition of chrome trim, heated steering wheel, ergonomic driver’s seat, adaptive cruise control and step lighting at the front of the vehicle.
