Here’s a detailed look at the paint palette available on the Vauxhall Corsa 5-seater hatchback, and its all-electric derivative in the form of the Corsa-e, which we hope will help you choose your perfect new car colour. There are 7 main paint options for the Corsa/Corsa-E, comprising 1 solid paint (called ‘brilliant’ by Vauxhall), 4 2-coat metallic paints and 2 further 2-coat premium metallic paints. Once you get to GS Line or Ultimate specifications (which are the only 2 trim grades available to Corsa-E customers), the Vauxhall Corsa/Corsa-E comes with a contrasting black roof as standard, for a 2-tone appearance, but for no extra cost you can opt to have these models all in 1 body colour; basic Design cars (only available with petrol or diesel engines) are all in 1 colour as standard and do not have the option to be finished in a 2-tone configuration. Paint Types
Solid = a simple body colour with no additives in the paint. Usually comprises 3 coats, these being a primer, then the paint, then a clear, protective lacquer. Solid paints aren’t particularly shiny and are normally the only standard/no-cost colours offered by manufacturers.
Metallic = same application process as above but the paint now has powdered metal mixed into it, which reflects more light to give the car a shinier appearance. Metallic finishes usually cost more than solid paints.
Pearlescent/Mica = as above, only instead of metal, ceramic crystals (known as ‘mica’) are added to the paint. These not only reflect light but refract it too, giving one colour different appearances in different levels of light. They’re normally as expensive as or pricier than metallic paints.
Matte = uses special ‘flattening’ agents in the paint/layering make-up to give the car a non-reflective appearance, and sometimes an unusual texture too. These are normally the most expensive and rarest of paint options, and are not offered on many new car models.
Exterior
Jade White
Type: Solid (brilliant)
Cost: No cost (default colour on all models)
Available On: All models
In a similar policy to the related Mokka crossover, Vauxhall offers Jade White brilliant as the standard paint colour for all 3 specifications and all types of powertrain (internal combustion or electric) offered on the Corsa. It’s quite a glossy white, considering it is not a metallic paint, but – like all automotive white paints – it’ll need a lot of regular washing to keep it looking its best.
Diamond Black
Type: 2-coat metallic
Cost: £600
Available On: All models
The 1st of 4 2-coat metallic paints is the polar opposite to Jade White, as it’s this Diamond Black metallic. This one is not the greatest to show off the contrast roof of the GS Line and Ultimate models, and black paint is not as low-maintenance as you might expect as it shows up encrusted-on winter road salts worse than any other colour, but when it’s sparkling then Diamond will look really classy.
Crystal Silver
Type: 2-coat metallic
Cost: £600
Available On: Design (petrol and diesel) models only
A colour specific to the basic Design models – which means you can’t specify it on the Corsa-E no matter what you do – Crystal Silver is quite a classic light, metallic shade. It’ll need minimal upkeep all year round, as silvers are good at hiding accumulated road dirt, although it’s not the most adventurous finish available for a Corsa.
Quartz Grey
Type: 2-coat metallic
Cost: £600
Available On: GS Line and Ultimate cars only
The upper-spec GS Line and Ultimate cars are given a different option to Crystal Silver, which is a darker shade called Quartz Grey. Another good colour for those who don’t like washing their cars every Sunday of the year, Quartz is a subdued but appealing finish for the Corsa.
Voltaic Blue
Type: 2-coat metallic
Cost: £600
Available On: All models
The last of the 4 2-coat metallics which are £600 a go, Voltaic is 1 of 3 bright, youthful colours available for the Corsa and it’s something of a signature shade for the car. It’s a rich, bright, midtone blue, which should look OK even when it’s covered in dirt. It works particularly well with the black roof of the upper GS Line and Ultimate specifications, too.
Power Orange
Type: 2-coat premium metallic
Cost: £700
Available On: All models
A colour which diverges from the Mokka palette – which has a green available to it instead – is this searing Power Orange. This is an interesting colour for the Corsa and will really suit the sporty-looking GS Line models most of all, while it’s a finish that won’t require weekly washing to look its absolute best.
Hot Red
Type: 2-coat premium metallic
Cost: £700
Available On: All models
Hot Red, the 2nd of the £700 premium 2-coat metallics (along with Power Orange), is another strong, bold colour for the Corsa and one designed to offset the black roof option of GS Line and Ultimate cars to a tee. Again, it’s a finish that will wear winter road grime better than some of the other paint options available and, as reds go, Hot is quite a deep, rich and lustrous version of the colour. It’s a great choice for Corsa customers.
Interior
Fresez Marvel Black Fabric

The interior for the basic Design cars (petrol and diesel Corsas only) sees comfort-spec front seats upholstered in Fresez Marvel black fabric trim inserts, with Mistral fabric side bolsters, a Mistral fascia on the dash and Jet Black door panels. This all serves to make the interior of the Design quite monochromatic and dark.
Banda Marvel Black Fabric Sports Seats

The GS Line is the sporty model in the range and so it gets front sports seats, with a central-stripe motif formed by Banda Marvel black fabric seat trim with Mistral side bolsters, as well as Signal Red and Dark Titanium stitching. The dashboard fascia is also rendered in grey Liquid Palladium and there are Hot Red accents to liven up the material expanses, while Liquid Palladium cloth inserts are used on the door cards too.
Alcantara And Black Fabric
Type: Alcantara and cloth
Cost: No cost
Available On: Ultimate
Available With All Body Colours?: Yes
The Ultimate cars are the luxury-focused models and they come with upmarket Alcantara seat centres, contrasted by Jet Black side bolsters and grey inserts on the seat bases. The dashboard has a Jet Black fascia with Galvano Chrome inserts and Jet Black door panels.
