This picked up the prestigious UK Car of the Year Award for 2022 and with good reason – the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is one of the most dramatic product developments for any given manufacturer in years.

Audi’s ‘e-tron’-badged range of EVs is growing day by day, but it could be argued that the Q4 e-tron is the best of the lot, and certainly a contender for the best electric family car.
This is because it is the only all-electric Audi yet released which can go beyond 300 miles on a single charge in the right specification, as neither the larger e-tron SUV nor the desirable e-tron GT high-performance saloon can manage such a feat. Not only that, but in its single-motor guises, the Q4 e-tron is the only rear-wheel-drive Audi that has been sold bar the mighty R8 supercar, which is quite some claim to fame.
Thankfully, as a family SUV, the Q4 e-tron works brilliantly. The interior looks futuristic and is built to Audi’s usual first-rate standards, but it’s also spacious and intuitively laid-out. That the Q4 e-tron is also lovely to drive, with epic refinement and strong performance, is merely the icing on a particularly tasty EV cake.
7. Mercedes-Benz EQB
