The Model 3 saloon doesn’t lack for cabin space, but the Model Y – with its taller roofline – takes that to another level, with plenty of leg- and headroom in both the front and back seats. The flat floor helps with space in the back, giving rear-seat passengers plenty of room for their feet, so it’s possible to get 3 adults in there when needs be.
The boot is also massive, with Tesla quoting as much as 854 litres of space if you load the Model Y up to its rear windscreen. Not only does that boot space expand to 1869 litres if you fold down the back seats, there’s also a handy extra boot – known as a ‘frunk’ – in the nose, which accommodates another 117 litres of luggage. That’s a good place to keep the bulky charging cables, too.
