The E-Tech Plug-In Hybrid is by far the most economical version of the Captur. Or at least it is on paper. It will manage between 29 and 31 miles on electricity alone, which is more than enough for shopping, the school run or even a short commute. If your lifestyle fits, you won’t use the petrol engine much at all. That’s sure to keep your fuel bills low. The E-Tech plug-in hybrid will also keep your tax bill down, with CO2 emissions of between 33- and 36g/km. That means company-car tax is kept to a minimum.
Alternatively, you could go for the E-Tech Hybrid, which uses a more conventional hybrid system. It’s a good middle ground between the plug-in hybrid and the normal petrol engines. Having said that, both the TCe 90 and TCe 140 are capable of almost 50mpg on the official economy test.
