Mercedes-Benz S-Class Lease Deals

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has long been a byword for automotive excellence. World leaders, diplomats, film stars and successful businesspeople are frequently seen being chauffeured around in the luxury of an S-Class – so leasing one is truly a passport to the upper echelons of the car world.

But the big Mercedes doesn’t just rest on its luxury laurels. With each generation, Mercedes has introduced new features and technology to this super saloon that have later become commonplace items on less expensive cars.

  • The S-Class is a 4-door saloon, but it’s a pretty big one, so storage and practicality are good, if not quite hitting the heights of a large SUV or estate car like the Range Rover.

The boot can hold a decent 550 litres of luggage, which is more than key rival the Audi A8 can manage, and accessing it is very easy thanks to a hands-free power-operated bootlid.

Finally, there’s oodles of storage space for odds and ends, with a large box under the central armrest, hefty cupholders and generously proportioned door bins.

  • The smooth S350d diesel will return just over 40mpg in typical use, while the S400d hovers around the 37- or 38mpg park. The S500 petrol is unsurprisingly thirstier, but driven gently can still hit a reasonable 32- to 34mpg.

If you really want to minimise your running costs when leasing a Mercedes S-Class, it’s worth holding out for the soon-to-be-launched petrol-electric plug-in hybrid.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class Models Available

Mercedes-Benz S-Class Saloon

The ‘standard’ S-Class is a pretty special car in its own right, with a classically elegant 4-door saloon profile and plenty of room for occupants front and rear.

This shorter-wheelbase bodystyle can only be specified with the AMG Line and AMG Line Premium trim levels.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class Saloon Long

They say space is the ultimate luxury and the long-wheelbase S-Class certainly offers plenty of that, with limousine-like legroom for back-seat passengers.

The S-Class Long is an option with the AMG Line Premium trim, but is the only bodystyle available for the more expensive Premium Executive, Premium Plus and Premium Plus Executive specs.

High Performance Models

High-performance AMG versions of the latest 2021-model Mercedes S-Class haven’t been unveiled yet, but rest assured they are coming.

Highlights from previous generations included the racy V8-engined S63 and mighty V12-powered S65 models – and their forthcoming successors are likely to be just as thrilling and powerful.

Every Mercedes S-Class comes with a plethora of standard kit. Even the most affordable AMG Line version with the short-wheelbase body includes features like 19-inch alloy wheels, air suspension, parking assistance, power-closing doors, ambient lighting, heated seats front and rear, 4-zone climate control, augmented reality satnav and a 9-speaker audio system.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Vs Competitors

Down through the years, the Mercedes S-Class’ biggest rivals have always been the BMW 7 Series and the Audi A8. But as impressive as those cars are, with each generation it always seems as though the Mercedes just noses ahead when it comes to that last degree of comfort and technological sophistication.

The 7 Series is a little sportier to drive, but that’s bordering on an irrelevance when you consider these cars’ target market.

  • Specific reliability data on the S-Class is sparse, as relatively few are made, but as the flagship of Mercedes’ range, it’s put together with absolute focus on durability, quality and dependability, so there should be no worries here.

  • The S-Class has a 550-litre boot capacity, which is useful when you consider it’s often used as a VIP airport or hotel shuttle and therefore needs to carry a large suitcase or 3 with ease.

  • Technically just one (AMG Line), but the Premium, Premium Executive, Premium Plus and Premium Plus Executive equipment packs effectively serve as trim levels.

  • Yes, all models of S-Class come with a sophisticated parking-assistance system that will scan a potential parking space to make sure the car will fit, and then guide you into it automatically.

  • Not as practical as luxury SUVs like the Range Rover or Mercedes GLS, but reasonably useful all the same thanks to its 550-litre boot capacity and extensive cabin storage.

  • The S-Class has built up an enviable reputation and rock-solid brand image over the years, and Mercedes works hard to ensure each generation can live up to the name. It offers the best of everything, without compromise.
